Eating Out
There are
two restaurants in the village. Betel is open every day, while Pri
Fencu is generally only open on weekends. You’ll find them both by following the road up the valley and turning left over a small bridge.
10 minutes drive down the hill in Jesenice there are a host of restaurants to choose from. Fontana, our favourite pizza place, has huge pizzas at half the price of those in Bled! Turn right at the bottom of the hill in Jesenice and it's on the right near the pedestrian lights.
About 15 minutes down the road to Kranjska Gora is Villa Rosa which serves good food and is pleasant, if not a bit close to the road.
Kranjska Gora has plenty of nice restaurants to choose from including the rustic Gostilna pri Martinu and Restaurant Pizzeria Kotnik, both of which you'll find by heading NE from the main square and church, past the fire station and on the right.
In Bled you could try any of a host of places including Restaurant Rikli, Gostilna Pri Planincu, Peglezn, Vila Preseren, Gostilna Union; or for a good cuppa, the tea café next to the tourist office. Of course, you have to try the famous Bled Cream Cakes, pictured below!
In Ljubljana, Restaurnat Julija does reasonably priced menus or try this website for a fuller list.
In Srednja, Vas near Bohinj, Pri Francki have excellent meals in a nice setting next to the river and underneath the imposing village church. Combine a trip to the Lake with lunch or park at Stara Fužina, hike over Rudnica and return via the restaurant (see
walks page)
