Location
Planina pod Golico is in the heart of the Alpine region of NW Slovenia midway between Bled (25mins) and Kranjska Gora. On the map below it's marked with an orange star. From the terrace of the flat you look out over the village and church to forested hills, and in the distance, the Julian Alps.
Access
to the house is easy with the expressway linking you to Austria and Ljubljana about 15 minutes away, down in the main valley. Despite the proximity to main routes, the village is hidden away in the hills, with no sign of the hectic modern world! Both Ljubljana and Klagenfurt airports are less than an hour by expressway.
The chalet is in the village of Planina pod Golico (literally translates to 'The meadows at the foot of Mt. Golica'), however the nearest neighbour is about 300m away and the house is not overlooked making it very private. The village sits in a beautiful hanging valley about 900m up into the Kaminške mountain range (or Karavanke), which stretches along Slovenia's northern border with Austria. You are surrounded by the forested peaks of Golica and Klek.
